Well...
The two attempts this past week were washes (I was an hour late for
Monday, and only one player showed anyway, and I was the only
person there Thursday)...
This weekend is out - too much else going on and too short of a notice.
I could try to do something either this coming Thursday (9/17), or
one day during the weekend - but if this falls through, I won't be
free to try again until mid or late October.
Thursday would have to be the Hobby Bunker unless someone has an
"In" with Compleat Strategist and they're not running something
else then.
Saturday or Sunday could be just about anywhere I can get to (Hobby
Bunker, the new place in Danvers, Your Move Games, Pandemonium, or
somewhere else - in descending order of personal preference).
I'd need at least three commitments to schedule, though (in the
past I've found that for every four people who promise to show for
a game, two actually do, and a third who didn't say anything before
also turns up; the game CAN handle parties of two, but it's very
difficult to keep them alive if they face any credible challenges;
a group of three is the smallest PRACTICAL party size, and 4-6 is
the "ideal").
Also, as an aside, is anyone planning to go to TempleCon (February,
Rhode Island)? They'd love to have HackMaster (either version) or
Aces & Eight represented there, and I'd be happy to run a few games
but transportation is an issue; I'd be happy to discuss this
off-list with any one already planning to head there - or on the
fence about it.
