Introduction

Just moved to Newton, Mass., and hoping to get involved in some gaming. I'd love to play in or run games. I have about 4 years of D&D DMing experience (two two-year-long campaigns and more) and have also done DMing professionally.

What genre do you like and dislike to play?

Fantasy (especially dark fantasy) is favored, as is science fiction. I'm a fan of the horror genre as well. High fantasy is decent, but not preferred. I like serious games over comedic games.

What Role-Playing systems do you prefer to play or avoid?

4th Edition D&D is a breeze to play and run, but I'm quite familiar with 3.5 and enjoy a spot of d20 Modern. I'm interested in trying out other indie games as well, and have run plenty of Dread games with good results.

What kind of books or magazines do you like or dislike?

I mostly stay away from fantasy books that I haven't already heard good things about, since the field is often such a mixed bag. Science fiction is fantastic, as is quality, genre-defining lit.

What TV Shows/Movies do you like or dislike?

Lost, Castle, Firefly, Buffy, Stargate: Universe. For movies, well, Inception was just wonderful. But Dark Knight was great, Eternal Sunshine, Garden State, Unbreakable... you know the sort.

What kind of Role-Player do you consider yourself to be?

I'm a storyteller to the utmost, and when I play I tend towards acting and strategic play.
