Is there room for another for this one off? I recieved BW Gold in the mail the other day and would like to try it out.

There certainly is room for another. Let's get the scheduling for this Friday out of the way. We can try to play at the library (Watertown), my place (Newton) or another place if that's more convienent for everyone. If possible let's try to get that hashed out by the end of tomorrow so we won't scramble like last week (my fault I admit).

If this is really happening (sorry, i am a little sceptical right now), i don't mind either location, however, something near the Kendall/Havard would be preferable from my perspective. Oh, and i am still in.

You'll will be given characters to choose from. This is intended as a one shot to get the system tested and get a feel for it. I don't want to spend to much time on character creation. Once we got the location hashed out we can determine who's going to be who ...

Christian, I am very interestd in the one-shot but getting weary of all the back and forth with people who don't have a car or are just "lazy" and will only play if it is at their house. I respectfully request that you regain control of your event, by setting a date, and a place and then not changing it. You're never going to be able to please everyone. You'll see by your RSVPs whether or not you've got enough to play. To everyone else...don't RSVP if you can't get to the location.

I'm not aware of anyone at any point saying they could only make it if it was at their house, and all of the conversation about getting rides was as far as I can tell an effort to arrange transportation and nothing more. I'm not sure that it's constructive to characterize those efforts as lazy. By which I mean I am certain it is not constructive.

I'd be interested in playing a bard-type character if that's ok. In addition, will I need to bring anything? I've never played Burning Wheel before, so I don't have any specific literature on the game.

I'll play whatever. My main interest is seeing how the game plays out in action. So I guess someone with at least one weapons skill so I can see how combat works. Dwarf, if there is one.

Glad it went well! I'd definitely be interested in the repeat, if the timing works out.

I talked about the Burning Wheel (BW) with a co-worker of mine who is very familiar with the game. Apparently, "The Gift" is a famous one-shot for BW. I don't feel like I got enough of a taste of the game with this one-shot. I was informed of another famous BW one-shot called "The Sword." This one involves some P vs P and will demonstrate the combat aspects of the game. So while I am not interested in doing a repeat, even with a different character, I am interested in trying "The Sword."

Sounds good I'm up for it. I liked the idea of the gift as it really highlights the character driven approach of roleplaying vs. The standard fare. I'll schedule a second shot. Same place and time? who's interested and who wants to GM...

I will be tied up for the next couple of weeks with school, but after that I am down for another shot at this. I may also be able to run a short adventure as well.
