"The Shab-al-Hiri Roach is dark comedy of manners, lampooning academia and asking the players to answer a difficult question - are you willing to swallow a soul-eating telepathic insect bent on destroying human civilization?

No?

Even if it will get you tenure?"

Players will play members of the faculty of Pemberton University during the Fall semester of 1919. The sleepy New England campus is a seething mass of petty rivalry, backbiting and relentless social climbing. Into this provincial world arrives the Roach, a malignant insect from the ancient past who has mastered the art of controlling the minds of human beings. Over the course of an afternoon's play, PC's will seek to manuver their way up the academic ladder while the Roach pursues it's own unspeakable designs.

Join us for the first in a series of one shot Indy RPG experiences to be offered monthly over the course of 2010. Each month will feature a different GM running a new game.

Who attended?

    •  The inaugural event for a series of monthly one-shots, each focused on a game system you're probably unfamiliar with. Tewhill did a great job running the Shab-al-Hiri Roach: excellent prep and execution!
    •  A strange game. The only winning move is not to get enslaved by the roach.
    •  I good time with a fun, challenging game. The petty, academic rivalaries escalated to utter mayhem by the Homecoming game. All the players chipped in with good scenes.
